Creatures

Inci-lu’s – These bright orange bodied creatures were made on the spur of the moment for a local Pride Festival in Crediton where I was stationed at the time. I tried to use as many pride colours as possible and promote equality and diversity. Dignity and Worth is the Methodist movement, I recommend looking at their website for more information.

Carnival Creatures – I dreamt these, goodness knows what goes on in my head. When minister at Stoke Methodist Church there was a great opportunity to work with Stoke Stars, a community group. We took part in the second Stoke Fun Day by making banners and flags and had a stall on the day. These little carnival creatures proved quite popular. All made from felt and with new filling.

Pixie Piran – I decided to make a little pixie as I had lots of green snooker table felt. I soon realized that this was going to be a large pixie which developed its own character. Piran is a confident pixie who can flutter his eyelashes to get his own way. He stands for justice, equality and diversity, and promotes God as LOVE.

Cheri and Fitz ponies – I was privileged to be the minister at Cheriton Fitzpaine Methodist Church for four years before the church closed earlier this year (2024) I started making the two legged ponies to raise funds for the church, I made sewing kits too, they were all popular. Some were called Cheri and the others were Fitz. I made a few donkeys too which were called. The felt was new but the filling was old material which had been boil washed.
